e-Exam Symposium 2018: The Austrian experience with e-Exams (session 1)
e-Exam Symposium 24 Nov 2018: Session 1
Presenter: Dr Gabriele Frankl (Alpen-Adria Universität, Klagenfurt, Austria)
This session explores the story of how Alpen-Adria Universität in Austria have reached a milestone of having 50% of their higher stakes examinations as Bring-your-own-laptop e-Exams. The session includes why e-Exams were initiated, the benefits of e-Exams, how e-exams can include the software used by students in learning to foster constructive alignment in assessment, and why overcoming technical issues are not enough - organisational support and logistics matter too. The approach uses student's own laptops started up (booted) to an alternative operating system over a network.
Hosted by Professor Geoff Crisp, University of New South Wales and Dr Mathew Hillier, Monash University. Duration 48 minutes.
